Hey so im working on a project using 1/2 pvc (schedule 40) as a building material. I have everything built and put together. My only problem now is that I need to attach it to a flat surface. I’ve found the solution for 1 in or larger in the form of formufit table screw cap. How ever i can not find such a thing for 1/2 pipe. So I ask any of ya’ll that fancy yourself to be handy, what solution can you think of for attaching 1/2 pvc to a flat surface?

Parallel or perpendicular to the surface?
Flange for perpendicular, or cap with a screw through it if it doesn’t have to seal. Some of these if it’s parallel:

it’s flat perpendicular, like a table surface. i tried the cap’s with screw in it but the only 1/2 caps I can find are rounded.. didn’t work well and sanding them to be flat didn’t work either.

Yes! but when they say half in diameter do that mean I would need a half inch threaded adopter to use it? is it 3/4 inch wide to accept a half inch pipe? I’m bad at this stuff.. haha

I’ve used these for “feet” on a prop for a halloween costume, they seemed pretty flat.

I’d just bring a bit of pipe with you into the hardware store and see what flanges you need. I do this all the time and almost always coming back and swapping a part because I still got it wrong...

Yes - you will need either a 1/2" adapter to thread into the flange, and then glue the adapter to your pipe, or you can cut threads onto your PVC and thread the rod into the flange. Personally I would vote to use an adapter. You can also visit a home improvement store and test fit these things on site without issue - they’re usually in bins in the aisles.

oh I just noticed, this schedule 80, that should be the same size as schedule 40 right? just a smaller interior diameter if I recall..

Schedule 80 fittings have the same inside dimensions as Schedule 40, and Schedule 80 pipe has the same outside dimensions as Schedule 40.
